More often than not there is a touch of truth in old legends. One of the legends associated with our region says that in the ancient times the lambs from Krk were taken all the way to Rome to enrich and decorate the tables and enhance the ceremonial atmosphere of great gourmets like Neron and Lucullus. That was long before any tourism activities.
 
Specialties based on ingredients from the sea and dishes prepared according to old recipes containing lots of local aromatic and spicy herbs are the main characteristics of the type of cuisine offered in our restaurants.
 
Krk lamb is a recognized Croatian product - a healthy food product because the sheep are grown in open spaces and they feed on various aromatic and spicy herbs.
 
Krk cheese, made of sheep milk, is an exceptional delicacy with which you can start or finish your meal. Smoked ham with several olives and homemade bread are always found on our menus.
 
Kvarner scampi and fish widely known for their nutritional value and taste and prepared in a simple way on olive oil are a special treat for gourmets.
 
Surlice (traditional pasta) with lamb stew, fish stew with polenta, homemade lasagna with salted fish, young goat meat on a platter with swiss chard and broad beans are only some of the traditional dishes that can be found in our offer.
 
We create special atmosphere for our guests through organizing Theme Nights, whether they include discussions on the wine and the sea, listening about the Glagolitic alphabet or learning how to prepare surlice and other traditional dishes.
 
Besides all these delicacies, we serve the famous Croatian wines that are better received by our guests with each year. Homemade brandies such as vine, honey, herbal, fig or mistletoes brandies are excellent aperitifs after eating dinner at the restaurant within the Zvonimir Hotel, or the restaurants and the bistro of the Corinthia Hotel.
